Movie for the Family to Enjoy!

Opens across the country April 6, 2015.
By your tickets today here:

SYNOPSIS: The leading mercenary for the British East India Company, Will Reynolds has just been double-crossed and now is on the run in the American Colonies. Working to redeem his name and win back the affections of the woman with whom he's never been fully truthful, Will now hides behind a new mask in hopes of thwarting his former employer. As his past life closes in on him, Will must somehow gain the trust and the help of his beloved Charlotte - as well as Ben Franklin - while he races against time to defuse a plot of historical proportions. Coming to theaters Spring, 2015, BEYOND THE MASK is a revolutionary new family film that brings history to life in a faith-filled adventure celebrating grace, liberty, and the true freedom that can only be found in Christ.

Yes, my family is vested in this movie via friendship with the Burns family, creators of the film. Time (my oldest daughter worked on costumes and film production) and much prayer. It really is a fun family film!

Hope you take time to check it out!!
Thanks,

LauraJane:)

The Card Concept Challenge #31

Hello.... Cupcakes and pink!!
Here's my card for  The Card Concept Challenge #31 the Freestyle/Collage category.
I started with embossing Scribbled Circles from PTI on white cardstock then SMOOSHED various colors of pink and red inks for the BG. Layered PTI's  Baker's Dozen cupcakes on flowers and greenery from Altenew.

Coloring the cupcakes with Spectrum Noir markers was relaxing:) then I clear embossed the butterflies for added interest.

Isn't the inspiration photo SCRUMPTIOUS?!!
Hope you join in on the fun at TCC!

Check out what Virginia Lu our guest designer has made for the challenge.
As well as all the other DT! I'm sure their cards will make you want to play along:)

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #30

Today there is a new Sketch up at STAMPlorations and Spring is in the air!!

Here is my card using Sketched: Tulips inked in Antique Linen Distress Ink.   After coloring in the tulips with the markers, I accidentally spritzed with my glasses cleaner:/  It really gave it a washed out look.  So I recolored and outlined the images. I like how it turned out. The sentiment is from

Spring!!!

Feels like Spring!!
The snow is melted and the sun is shining, Spring has come to our part of the world:))) At least for a few days.

I have been quiet on the commenting front  with good reason my dear readers.  My oldest daughter was surprised with an engagement ring and proposal on Valentines Day.  He, future SIL, took her to the Butterfly House in St. Louis, It was also their first official date without a chaperone... yes, their courting relationship has played out like one of the Dugger Girls, without all the cameras!  The big day is set for this June, and I was happy to be in charge of making the 100+ invitations:)  The card fronts are completed *sigh*

Altenew's Painted Butterflies was the stamp set the newlyweds chose for me to work with.  I've found that I do not like making duplicate cards. The happy couple graciously allowed me to vary the colors on each one.YAY!!

For today's card, I created something similar to the invitations that are finished, but not yet sent to the post. I used distress inks and water on PTI's new Fresh Snow Linen cardstock.

EDITED:
Thank you for asking about the varied colors Marika. I had not thought about photographing all of them together...but I gave it  go!  Let me explain just a bit more about the invitations, they are much more CAS than the version I created for the challenge. I simply inked up the stamps in different rainbow colors before stamping.  Without the wash of color over the sentiment they reproduced very quickly!
Here are a few pics of all the LG butterflies and and then some of my most favorites from the project.

After seeing my card for the challenge, my daughter is asking for some silver embossing to be added to each one...HA!!  I believe a card is never TRULY finished until it is in the mail!!!

STAMPlorations Monthly Challenge - Stamps & Stencils

YAY! It's Friday!!
Also the beginning of STAMPlorations March Challenge- Stamps and Stencils.

Here's my card for the challenge using:
About a Rose
I dry embossed the stencil, at an angle, by running it through my Big Kick, then colored a few of the raised Old Roses with water color pencils and Distress inks.
Then I stamped  a sentiment from About a Rose,(Stamp Lab)  and LOVE, a few times over the top for visual interest.  On a separated piece of cardstock I stamped and colored the rose image, then cut the square and mounted it onto the stenciled BG.
Heat embossing three hearts in black, along with another LOVE, helps add balance with dark contrast at the bottom of the card.
And finally a touch of washi to finish the whole thing off:)

Milla is a Guest Designer this month.

Stop by STAMPlorations and check out the cards from the other DT Gals!

Hope to see you playing along:)

Challenge #30 at The Card Concept

There is a new BEAUTIFUL inspiration photo
I just love the spring colors:) and the white textured vessel!
The theme is THINKING of YOU.
For my card, I wanted to challenge myself to create a FREESTYLE/COLLAGE using one layer only...stamps layered on stamps.
I know the main sentiment is I "heart" U,
but I imagine the stamped images evoke the feeling of thinking of you.

The added "thinking of you" from PTI, is embossed with WOW! white pearl.

Do pop over to see all the other cards from the DT, and play along!

CASEplorations : CASing Loll

Hello CASEplorations fans!
Today I'm CASEing a card from Loll Thompson.
The BOLD BLOOM stencil worked perfectly at the base of my card.  I chose a few of the blooms and leaves to trace, then colored them in with markers.

The white frame creates a cozy scene which I copied from Loll.
I tried going with just gold as the accent color using
Then I added some black to ground the whole thing.

Here is Loll's card to CASE:

Hope this inspires you to join the Inspiration CASE Playground at STAMPlorations!
