I worked on coloring and cutting out this guy :)

And then I colored and cut out a few friends for him.

There Is HOPE

I spoke with someone today that needed to here this message.

Just a bit of masking created a seat for the bloom. PRETTY PEONIES from Jane's Doodles is the star of this card. I embossed the image in white and water-colored it using AQUA MIST from PTI.  Smooshing the ink pad on an acrylic block enabled me to get the ink with my brush. A bit of water helped even out the colors. Dot Flower from Hero arts was the perfect lacy background.

I'm entering this into
The Card Concept  Challenge #15 - Colour Challenge

and
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ,,,,Emboss It

Something New

I'm combining two challenges for PTI today.  The Make It Monday #173: No Outline Watercolor and
July 2014 Blog Hop
I really enjoyed creating this no outline posy  from  the FLOWER GARDEN set and coloring  it in with my INKTENSE watercolor pencils.  The inspiration photo for the hop had a sweet embroidered cluster of flowers which helped me with the arrangement.

I embossed the sentiment and flower centers with some new WOW Ultra High embossing powder. I'm thinking it Maybe it was a bit TOO high.  HA!

July 2014 PTI Blog Hop Challenge

Can it be the 25th of the month already??? Where did the Summer go?! The end of July here means County Fair, which happens to be the theme of the inspiration photo for the  PTI July 2014 Blog Hop Challenge. I think the up-coming MAKE IT MARKET has something to do with the County Fair as well.
Here is my card

inspiration photo
I just LOVE the colors and images in this photo! Banners, Stitched masterpieces and Gingham all say County Fair to me!
Since typing is not me favorite thing, I thought I would take a picture of the PTI supplies I used to make this card. (I forgot to include Farm and Barn background basics used for the texture of the background panel.)

 un-natural light at night :(

However, JOY comes in the morning! And so does the Sunlight!
And I'll be back with a better picture then:)))

Morning sunlight:)

watercolor paper before spritzing with water
I started out by creating this piece using wplus9 FRESH CUTS and MORE FRESH CUTS.
Then I spritzed it with LOTS of water..softening the flowers and cut the tag with PPP Stitched Duo 1 Die.

Then layered it on top of some BoBunny Bold & Bright Double Dot paper.
I cut the word sentiments from paper in which I used a Shaving Cream TIE-Dye technique...FUN stuff!
The TWEED Background is stamped with Hero Arts Design Block. PPP Sequins were the perfect embellishment along with some lace scraps I colored with Mr. Huey's Color Mist sprays.

Can you tell I had a GREAT time?!?!

A Shaped card and matching Envelope for Virginia's View Challenge #5

Just popping in to share a card I made for  Virginia's View Challenge #5. There are over 300 entries this time...GO Ladies!
I finally got the dies from PPP and simply HAD to play with them for a bit. I used the border die to create a shape of sorts for a fun twist. Jennifer McGuire shows how to achieve something similar here.

Here is a close-up of how nicely the layers matched up using the dies.
The stitching is the SWEETEST:) and the sequins from PPP are like CANDY!

Then I used the die to emboss an envelope to match...I was THRILLED with the results!

Thanks for looking! Won't you come and play? The linky closes tonight.

Pop-up Flourish Thanks

I really wanted to play along with the ladies at PTI Make It Monday #171: Pop Up Die Cuts . It was VERY difficult to come up with something to pop-up other than a butterfly which Betsy showed in here video. After MUCH thinking all week here is what I came up with.

And a closer look at the details of the partial cut Flourish.
I stamped the flourish twice in melon berry to add some depth.

Monochrome CLEAR Collage

The challenge this week over at SSS Wednesday Challenge is LET'S Be CLEAR. I got out my CLEAR acetate, Clear Sequins and Clear Glossy Accents..With all the Clear I wanted to go monochrome as well...
so Victorian Velvet Distress ink and Autumn Rose from PTI were my inks of choice. Then added a splash of Silver embossing powder to the frame for some more bling.

As you can see, I'm still in the DIE-CUT mode from playing along with the

This one goes out to a dear young lady, whom we hope to see more of  in the future:)

Now with all those die cut letters left-over from the previous card I stitched and stapled together this next one.

Getting two cards from one cut (positive/negative) is a HUGE bonus when working with dies. Sometimes it takes a bit of pre-planning. But well worth it:)

I'm  entering this in Virginia's view Challenge #5 also .

Have YOU played along yet? There are SPECTACULAR entries for this challenge round. Go over and have a peek and get inspired!

Make It Monday #170: Masking with Die Cuts

I was so excited to play with the Make It Market Kit: Beautiful Brushstrokes by Betsy Veldman.
It was so FUN using the Masking technique shown by Erin at PTI.

Thanks for looking!

Masking with Dies

This weeks MIM #170 is all about two of my favorite things...MASKING and DIES! Erin shows a very detailed video of the simple technique of using your dies as a mask. Of course I joined in on the fun!

I used the OOPSIE DAISY stamps and dies as well as OMBRE BUILDERS.  My Tim Holtz CLEAR RULER made it easy to make the line of piercings.
